CY/CY Nano (CY meaning “see why”) is the youth version of the popular Christianity Explored outreach program. This seven-week curriculum, based on the Gospel of Mark, introduces young people to the person of Jesus and the basics of Christianity. Each weekly session lasts one or two hours and consists of: a time to eat together, a group activity designed to illustrate the session’s theme, an interactive Bible study of a passage in Mark, a live talk or a segment of the Soul dvd, and a closing discussion.

The CY/CY Nano leaders guide provides leaders with information on running both CY (designed for 15+ year olds) and CY Nano (designed for 11–14 year olds). Included are suggestions for group activities, notes and discussion questions, and answers to commonly-asked questions. The segments explore the person of Jesus and the message of Christianity. Student handbooks function primarily as discussion notebooks.

The series encourages participants to read through the gospel from beginning to end. While the program is age appropriate, it challenges young people to grapple with weighty questions. Youth leaders who are tired of “watered down” resources will find CY refreshing.

The Good Book Company offers sample and starter packages for the program.
