Shelf Life Book Review: Reformation Commentary on Scripture

Clifford B. Kvidahl

Reformation Commentary on Scripture: Galatians, Ephesians
IVP Academic, 2011

This commentary, edited by Gerald L. Bray, is the first in the Reformation Commentary on Scripture: New Testament series. This series focuses on the period of church history known as the Reformation.

The commentary includes an introduction and an appendix that sketches the lives of Reformation-Era figures. Bray shows how these reformers viewed Paul’s understanding of salvation. We are treated to the voices of Luther, Calvin, Bucer, Erasmus and other lesser-known figures, providing windows into another era of biblical interpretation.
