Christian author and blogger Tim Challies has served his church faithfully for years, but he's rarely the guy standing in the spotlight. His interests in ministry have always led him to work behind the scenes, helping to disciple the people in his care.
Today’s young adults in Hong Kong are the first generation to grow up in a semi-autonomous “Special Administrative Region” instead of a British-dependent territory. They are eager to have a say in their society’s future, and they typically are more interested in political change than in spiritual pursuits.
In the book of Deuteronomy, the Israelites are encamped on the plains of Moab, waiting to cross the Jordan River and enter the promised land. The previous generation had left Egypt and entered into a covenant with Yahweh at Mount Sinai, and now their children are renewing the covenant. Moses delivers Yahweh’s instructions for this new generation about how to stay faithful to their covenant with God in the land.
